Tax Accountant Role:
The Tax Accountant will assist with tax return preparation and tax planning for corporations, partnerships, and individual clients.
Accurately prepare and file various types of tax returns, including those for corporations, partnerships, and individual clients.Â
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Review and analyze financial statements and records to ensure correctness and adherence to accounting principles and tax regulations.
Collaborate with clients to develop effective tax strategies and planning opportunities.Â
Provide insights and recommendations to minimize tax liabilities and enhance financial performance.
Research and address tax notices, inquiries, and issues from tax authorities.Â
Develop strategies to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely compliance.
Stay informed about current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.Â
Implement changes and advise clients on how new laws may impact their tax obligations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.Â
Communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner.Â
Provide exceptional client service and address client questions and concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all tax-related activities and communications.Â
Prepare detailed reports and summaries as needed.
Tax Accountant Background Profile:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and planning.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Â
CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing certification a plusÂ
Proficiency in tax preparation software, Lacerte highly preferredÂ
QuickBooks experienceÂ
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Â
Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Â
Ability to convey complex information clearly and interact effectively with clients and team members.
