Staff Accountant Role:
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Record and post journal entries across diverse business functions.
Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts, including cash, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
Administer full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including billing, collections, vendor payments, and account reconciliation.
Prepare financial statements and accompanying reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Track cash activity and contribute to short- and long-term cash flow forecasting.
Oversee corporate credit card and expense management, including issuance, tracking, and reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and maintain strong internal controls.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and workflows.
Provide support for ad hoc accounting and finance-related initiatives and projects.
Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and operational financial reports.
Collaborate with HR to administer semi-monthly payroll, including updates for employee changes, deductions, and benefit reconciliations.
Partner with sales and finance teams to support commission calculations, deal validation, and CRM data accuracy.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to support office operations.
Provide assistance with scheduling, travel logistics, and general administrative duties.
Help maintain a clean, efficient, and organized office environment.
Act as a key point of contact for office-related matters and provide operational support to leadership as needed.
Staff Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
