Job Description
Our client, located outside of Nashville, TN, is looking for a Staff Accountant to add to their team. This is a Hybrid position based out of their corporate offices.

Staff Accountant Role:
In this role, the Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for oversight of all specified billing and collections activity for the Company. The staff accountant will be over Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Contracted Receivable, Unbilled Revenue, Deferred Revenue, Sales Taxes, Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts, and Customer Concessions.
General Ledger Maintenance: Aid in the upkeep of the general ledger, ensuring meticulous documentation and organization of financial records related to revenue. Provide support to the company's management and senior accountant during month-end closing processes as required.
Billing and Collections: Organize and perform billing for specified portions of the Company’s business, customer statements and other follow-up on the specified customer base to accelerate collections. High volume invoicing in a very organized billing process each month.Â
Revenue Recognition: Adhere to company policies and procedures for accurately recognizing revenue based on billings, ASC 606.
Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in the completion of month-end and year-end closing tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and monitoring of recurring journal entries.
Financial Controls: Possess a foundational understanding of the company's financial controls and prepare work accordingly.
Audit Preparation: Compile necessary documents and schedules for external audits.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for enhancing processes, improving efficiency, and implementing automation within the department.
Support Role: Serve as a backup for other positions within the accounting department and offer guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
Staff Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant within billing and collections.Â
Knowledge of GAAP and, specifically ASC 606 is a plus, but not required.Â
Skillful in accounting software, Workday is a plus and ERP systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Access, and Excel).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.Â

Ability to meet deadlines.
