Staff Accountant Role:
The Staff Accountant will take charge of our day-to-day accounting operations specifically Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Generate client statements and invoices using data extracted from Bills of Lading and Waybills
Distribute invoices to clients and follow up to ensure timely payment
Record and manage vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Ensure accurate cost accounting by matching revenues and associated costs on a per-transaction basis
Monitor and manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable using QuickBooks Online
Prepare and manage journal entries in the general ledger
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements
Deliver concise monthly financial summaries and insights to management
Gradually assume full ownership of the company’s accounting operations
Design and implement scalable accounting processes and robust internal controls
Evaluate and recommend new accounting tools and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with and report directly to the CFO, offering strategic financial guidance to support decision-making
Staff Accountant Background Profile:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, and financial reporting
Advanced skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, data cleaning, and analysis
QuickBooks Online exp, Proficient in invoicing, journal entries, and generating financial reports
Proficiency in English is required, particularly for communicating with vendors
Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory
Proactive and self-directed; capable of executing tasks with minimal supervision
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative office environment
Exceptional attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
Willingness to occasionally engage in after-hours communication, recognizing the 24/7 nature of the buisness
Long-term growth mindset, with a desire to evolve professionally and take on greater responsibility over time
