Senior Grocery Manager, Buyer Apprentice:
The Senior Grocery Manager, Buyer Apprentice is a dynamic role designed for emerging professionals seeking comprehensive experience in grocery management and procurement. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop critical skills in retail operations, inventory management, and strategic buying.
Grocery Management
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring seamless product flow and optimal customer experience
Conduct comprehensive visual inspections and manage in-stock levels
Develop and implement strategic merchandising plans, creating engaging product displays
Monitor sales floor dynamics, actively engaging with customers and team members
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism
Support Store Manager in executing product placement and appearance strategies
Buyer Apprentice Duties
Assist senior buyers in comprehensive procurement activities
Support supplier onboarding processes, verifying capabilities and ensuring compliance
Learn and participate in the entire procurement lifecycle
Monitor and manage inventory levels through accurate tracking and forecasting
Interact with suppliers to negotiate pricing, discuss delivery schedules, and resolve potential issues
Maintain meticulous records of purchases, supplier information, and procurement data
Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify cost-saving opportunities

Senior Grocery Manager, Buyer Apprentice Background Profile:
High school Diploma or GED and five or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
Previous experience in order writing, procurement, or supply chain management
Proven leadership experience in retail, preferably in specialty foods
Prior experience in grocery management or related retail leadership roles
Strong computer literacy in Google Workspace and Power BI preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Proficiency in mathematical calculations
Strong vendor relations and management experience
Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends
