Are you a senior grocery merchandising leader ready to own the strategy for how consumers shop, eat, and discover new products across a multi-store footprint? In this Senior Director of Merchandising & Retail Operations role, you’ll lead end-to-end merchandising, pricing, promotions, and in-store experience for an established grocery retailer. You’ll own P&L for key categories, build and mentor a high-performing merchandising team, and partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to drive sales, margin, and customer loyalty across a complex, fast-paced store network.
Senior Director of Merchandising and Retail Operations Role:
•Set the merchandising and retail vision for stores, aligning assortment, pricing, and promotions with growth and profitability targets.
•Lead category management using data to optimize mix, space, and margin.
•Drive in-store execution of planograms, endcaps, seasonal sets, and signage that boost traffic, conversion, and basket size.
•Use market data and customer insights to localize assortment and identify new product opportunities.
•Own vendor strategy and negotiations, securing competitive costs, trade funding, and impactful joint business plans.
•Partner with store leadership to ensure consistent retail standards, compelling presentation, and best-in-class customer experience.
Senior Director of Merchandising and Retail Operations Background Profile:
•5+ years in grocery/food retail merchandising, including multi-store leadership at a senior level.
•Strong P&L ownership experience with a track record of growing sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
•Deep knowledge of grocery categories and grocery dynamics.
•Proven ability to build, coach, and inspire high-performing teams.

Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
