Senior Director of Accounting
Senior Director of Accounting will be responsible for all accounting functions across eight entities located in multiple states.
Use accrual/GAAP-based accounting for all aspects of financial reporting, consolidation of 3rd-Party operating activity, invoice processing, cash management, lender compliance, among other various assignments
Ensure the team produces accurate and timely monthly financial reporting
Oversee month-end close activities including posting journal entries, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, and cconsolidating3rd-party operating activity
Work regularly with asset management team on overall portfolio needs
Oversee cash management and planning
Complete opening and closing entries on new and disposed assets
Account for asset construction/renovation projects
Review, approve, and post Accounts Payable batches
Ensure timely lender reporting and overall lender compliance
Supports annual financial audits
Ensures compliance with local tax requirements (sales, business, RE Tax, etc.)
Will not be making any material decisions regarding tax but will need enough to interact with accountants to ensure things are delivered
Some treasury responsibilities
Will work with a 3rd party for audits and tax returns
Senior Director of Accounting Background Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Ideally, a graduate tax degree
8-10 years of Big 4 and Public
Steady work history
Foreign tax experience partnership
This is a role-up-your-sleeve position
Private Equity is necessary
Must know Funding structures within Private Equity or Public Accounting
Treasury experience
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Must have REIT experience
Excel – Intermediate to expert level required
Prior experience with automated accounting systems required. Yardi, preferred
