Sales and Business Development Manager

Manufacturing company specializing in the fabrication of CNC machine tools, cutting equipment, and products/accessories.
Sales and Business Development Manager Role:
In this role, you will report to the President and be responsible for the growth and sustainment of the company’s national sales through new market development, organic growth, and providing input into new product development.
Responsible for increasing relationships and visibility within current customers and markets, while also focusing on growing and expanding into new markets.
Creation, ownership, and execution of a fluid Business Development strategy.
Accountability, supervision, and development of the Sales team.
Weekly generation and analysis of KPIs, including concise and definable actions and recovery plans.
Performance management and annual performance review with each direct report, including manufacturer’s sales reps (if applicable).
Implementation and management of customer lifecycle. Proactively finds new ways to build customer business, identify new opportunities, manage, and grow accounts.
Responds to and follows up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods.
Maintains and develops existing and new customers through appropriate propositions, ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
Work with estimating team to develop winning strategies on individual sales opportunities.
Participate in significant bid review meetings to provide insight and input on market intelligence.
Monitor and manage existing product margin levels to ensure the estimated cost are in line and the existing sale pricing provides the needed profit margins.
Manage the Company’s internet presence and social media platforms.
Local travel approximately 200 mile radius of Dallas Fort Worth to meet with Clients and Prospective Clients to build and maintain relationships.
Occasional air and over night travel.
Organize and attend trade shows as budgeted for the year and coordinate Company’s participation in the trade shows.
Oversee the set-up and deployment of an electronic CRM system (Sales Force) for the organization to allow for real-time updates to Sales activities by all team members.
Until such time as an electronic CRM system is in place, provide weekly activity reports to President.
Manage and participate in weekly Sales/Progress meetings.
Working with the Department Heads of other functional departments, including Estimating, Quality, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Accounting.
Hiring and working with a small team of direct reports.
Working with applicable industry groups and outside sales agencies.
Sales and Business Development Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
5+ years Sales Management experience in a manufacturing/contract manufacturing industry
Proficient MS Office Skills
The ideal candidate will have a strategic approach and experience in developing and implementing a sales and marketing strategy.
