Our client in Central Michigan has an immediate opening for a Retail Staffing Coordinator on a direct-hire basis.

Retail Staffing Coordinator Role:
The Retail Staffing Coordinator is focused on building our workforce through innovative recruitment strategies. In this pivotal position, you'll identify and attract qualified candidates while also nurturing existing team members career growth. Seeking someone who can balance the art of relationship building with the science of effective hiring processes.
Identify staffing needs through regular consultation with location managers
Design and implement creative recruitment campaigns across multiple channels
Conduct preliminary candidate assessments and coordinate interview schedules
Guide hiring managers through selection decisions to ensure quality hires
Champion internal mobility by promoting growth opportunities to current staff
Design referral programs that empower employees to help build their team
Support professional development initiatives that prepare staff for advancement
Track career progression through structured documentation and follow-up
Establish our employer brand presence at community events and job fairs
Build partnerships with educational institutions and workforce development programs
Leverage social media and digital platforms to connect with passive candidates
Utilize our applicant tracking system to maintain candidate data
Handle pre-employment logistics including offer negotiations and background verification
Produce recruitment metrics and analytics to guide strategic hiring decisions
Serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders on talent acquisition matters
Provide regular updates to management on recruitment progress and challenges
Create a positive candidate journey from first contact through onboarding
Uphold recruitment best practices and equal opportunity principles
Stay informed about evolving employment regulations affecting the hiring process

Retail Staffing Coordinator Background Profile:
Experience: 2 or more years in recruitment, preferably in a retail or customer service environment
Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, excellent communication, and organizational aptitude
Technical Proficiency: Experience with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office, UKG experience a plus
Qualities: Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced setting
Knowledge: Understanding of both traditional and innovative recruitment methods

Mike Cook

Mike Cook or as he is known in the industry "Grocery Store Mike", is a specialized grocery retail recruiter for Frontline Source Group. With more than 35+ years in the grocery retail industry, Mike started as a part-time courtesy clerk. He worked his way up to serve in-store leadership positions with both traditional and specialty food formats.  His expertise lies in hiring, training, and developing company leaders for small supermarkets to large grocery store operations with hundreds of locations. This experience is what differentiates his ability to recruit top Grocery talent from other recruiters in the market place.

Throughout his career, Mike has placed an emphasis on professional development and continuing education. He was in the charter class of Brookshire University, graduating as salutatorian. He also has earned certificates of proficiency in management specialized leadership and retail management from Tyler Junior College. The later certification was in collaboration with the Western Association of Food Chains. And, he has received numerous awards and accolades for customer service and leadership.

Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
