Our client in Austin, TX has an immediate opening for a Retail Financial Analyst on a direct hire basis.

Retail Financial Analyst Role:

The Retail Financial Analyst is a crucial member of the Marketing and Merchandising Category team. This role involves conducting advanced data analytics and visualization and maintaining essential business reporting. The Retail Financial Analyst will support various projects within the Category Management team, specializing in a specific category.
Utilize available resources to analyze and interpret consumer and sales insights to identify consumer trends and marketing opportunities.
Research and analyze data and other category-related information to identify trends, category performance, competitive threats, opportunities, etc., to support business decisions.
Develop regular and ad hoc reports, including out-of-stock items, opportunity gaps, SKU rationalization, plan-o-gram analysis, promotion analysis, pricing studies, financial performance, sales, and movement.
Provide internal business management with accurate and pertinent information that enhances and guides effective decision-making.
Collaborate with internal business teams to provide analysis and insights to support key business decisions.
Manage projects, including developing project plans, processes, and timelines.
Leverage analytical insights to create actionable items for improvement.
Conduct field analysis and make recommendations for improvement.
Design, manage, and run customized reports for category managers, directors, and executives.
Liaise with IT to ensure necessary data requirements are met and enhance understanding of data flow and accessibility in our enterprise system.
Determine market needs and gaps and assist in creating a strategy to capture new growth in the assigned areas.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Retail Financial Analyst Background Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
2+ years of experience in data analysis and/or financial analysis, including working with large-scale data and customer segmentation analysis.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Spotfire.
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Pricing and SKU management a plus.
Ability to develop solution-based analytics and reports.
Proficiency in project planning, including defining scope and timelines.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to acquire and interpret data.
