Remote Vice President of Underwriting and Product Development Role:
We’re looking for a dynamic Vice President of Underwriting and Product Development leader with a proven track record in reinsurance underwriting to join our team. This pivotal role involves direct client interaction and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to drive innovative product development and generate new business opportunities.
Strategic Leadership: Craft a comprehensive underwriting strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and objectives.
Product Development: Spearhead the creation of third-party reinsurance products and identify new opportunities.
Client Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with senior executives at client firms, presenting tailored solutions effectively.
Risk Management: Showcase expertise in structuring reinsurance solutions that mitigate risks and enhance capital efficiency.
Negotiation: Oversee the negotiation and placement of reinsurance treaties within US and Bermuda markets.
Team Growth: Recruit and nurture a team of underwriting professionals as the business expands.
Performance Monitoring: Track results and adapt strategies to optimize profitability while ensuring sustainable growth.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with all relevant external and internal regulations and policies.
Company Impact: Contribute significantly to the company’s success through revenue generation, strategic product growth, and enhancement of our professional reputation.
Remote Vice President of Underwriting and Product Development Background Profile:
At least ten years in the insurance sector, with at least five years focused on reinsurance underwriting in property and casualty lines.
Established network with reinsurance brokers.
Experience in private equity is a plus.
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong analytical skills, with a solid grasp of probability and statistics.
Advanced skills in MS Excel and databases, facilitating collaboration with IT, Claims, and Accounting teams.
Ability to manage projects independently and think creatively.
