Our client is seeking a Remote Insurance and Authorization Specialist who lives in the DFW and surrounding areas on a contract to possible hire basis and would possibly consider direct hire for the right candidate.

Remote Insurance and Authorization Specialist Role:
In this role, you will be verifying insurance eligibility for both medical and vision insurances for upcoming appointments by utilizing onsite websites or by contacting the carriers directly.  
You will be responsible for Rush Verifications including patients that were added to the schedule late, patients who were walkins, and patients who were scheduled for immediate appointments due to necessity.
You will handle approximately 60 verifications daily (starting out at approximately 40 while be trained on their systems, but ramping up to approximately 60/day).
Inability to obtain a verification of benefit or incomplete information is reported to manager immediately
Make outbound calls, if necessary, to obtain insurance information and authorizations
Keeps current with third party and payers guidelines
Request, track and obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers within time allotted for medical and services.
Request, follow up and secure prior-authorizations prior to services being performed.
Review patient deductibles and/or copays and enter into the billing system 
Locate and notify customers with delinquent accounts or if any additional information is needed
Ensure inbound calls are handled timely, efficiently, and appropriately
Enter insurance referrals and authorizations as needed. 
Notify Manager regarding any problems or financially risky patients
Report daily productions to Manager
Meet required production numbers as set by Manager - approximately 60 verifications daily (starting out at approximately 40 while be trained on their systems, but ramping up to approximately 60/day).
Advise Manager of medical necessity authorization denials due to non-compliance of insurance medical policies.
Maintain a professional approach with confidentiality. Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, electronic or oral disclosures.
Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws, as well as company policies and procedures.


Remote Insurance and Authorization Specialist Background Profile:
High School diploma or the equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or any college courses are a plus
2+ years of health insurance verification/authorization/eligibility experience
MS Office Suite experience – specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
10K by touch and type 50-60 wpm
Familiarity with NextGen is preferable
CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 knowledge
Understanding of key payers including Medicaid, Medicare and private payers
Knowledge of claims and billing
Excellent customer service skills and a positive, proactive attitude
Professional appearance and demeanor are required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a high attention to detail, and highly productive.
Work remotely from home
Hours:  8am – 5pm 
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
