Quality Manager in Fabrication Role:
In this role, you will be a pivotal part of the organization by executing quality assurance and quality control procedures in a large plant. Â
You will work closely with the management team to ensure conformance to quality standards and adherence to the quality system.
Collaborate with the Management Team: Work closely with the management team to oversee quality assurance, quality control, and inspection of production manufacturing operations related to fabricated aluminum extrusions.
Establish and Maintain Quality Requirements: Develop, implement, and uphold quality requirements and standards for both product development and manufacturing processes.
Enforce Quality Standards: Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, testing methodologies, quality plans, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Document and Audit Practices: Create, document, and audit operational practices, program quality, and metrics reporting systems to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Coordinate Inspections: Coordinate and conduct inspections to determine the quality assurance testing models for both raw materials and finished products.
Report on Quality Issues: Regularly report to the management team on quality issues, trends, and losses, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
Participate in Audits: Engage in both internal and external quality audits to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Update the Quality Manual: Maintain and update the quality manual as needed to reflect current quality standards and procedures.
Improve Quality Assurance: Strive to enhance quality assurance by focusing on fixture design, poka-yoke (error-proofing), and the development of robust check fixtures.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with customer and vendor quality teams to ensure that quality standards are maintained at the source.
FMEA and Control Plans: Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and develop control plans for critical parts produced within the manufacturing plant.
Quality Manager in Fabrication Background Profile:
Associate’s degree in the engineering space is required – Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in the engineering space is a plus
5- 10 years of experience in quality roles
Experience in quality management is preferred
Manufacturing experience is a must – fabrication, machining, die casting, etc.Â
Proficiency in Quality Systems: Demonstrated expertise in quality systems, including ISO 9001 and Six Sigma principles.
CAD and 3D Design Proficiency: Proficient in CAD and 3D design software, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and similar tools.
Hands-On Manufacturing: Willingness to actively engage in a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Acumen: Strong technical orientation with the ability to analyze complex problems and devise effective solutions.
Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and concise interaction with team members and stakeholders.
