Project Cost Control Analyst
Our client, located in The Woodlands, TX, is in need of a Project Cost Control Analyst for a contract to possible hire opportunity.

Project  Cost Control Analyst Role:
The main purpose of this role is to manage the cost for programs and projects
Will be responsible for preparing cost reports 
Develop and analyze monthly department budget and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
Responsible for analyzing and compiling accounting records and other needed data to determine the financial resources required to implement a program.
Consult with managers to ensure that budget adjustments are made in accordance with program changes.
Direct the preparation of regular and special budget reports.
Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.
Match appropriations for specific programs with appropriations for broader programs, including items for emergency funds.
Perform cost-benefits analyses to compare operating programs, review financial requests, and explore alternative financing methods.
Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
Review operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
Seek new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits.
Summarize budgets and submit recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests.
Works independently with minimal guidance. Usually determines own work priorities.
Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
Monitors and controls costs within own work. Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus.

Background Profile:
Bachelor' s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Marketing
5+ years of experience directly related to cost control
MUST have experience with accounting records, financial resources and budgets
Strong Microsoft office skills
Experience with planning and budgeting
Must be very detail oriented and have previous oil and gas experience
Must be available to work overtime when needed
