Pharmacy Purchasing Manager Role:
In this role, you will report to the Director of Pharmacy and manage the daily processes of the purchasing department.
Responsibilities include purchasing, inventory, distribution and record keeping for medications for the Pharmacy Department, initiating purchase orders for pharmaceuticals and supplies, receiving and distribution of supplies, processing purchase requisitions, and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
Manage inventory and purchase products based on specific company guidelines
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Excellent understanding and implementation of purchasing programs
Computer/data entry input
Understanding of pharmacy operating system and product files
Knowledge of Long-Term Care reimbursement
Manage purchasing compliance and communicate directives to General Manager
Communicate with General Manager regarding purchase issues
Pharmacy Purchasing Manager Background Profile:
High School diploma or the equivalent
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Previous experience in Purchasing/Procurement
Must have a valid pharmacy technician registration/certification
Ability to physically perform written and oral instructions
The ideal person will be neat/clean and orderly, have visual acuity, be punctual, reliable and flexible.
Ability to manage others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
MS Office Suite – specifically Word and Excel
Long Term Care pharmacy experience is a plus
Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy and fast-paced environment
Experience with Framework software or DocuTrack software is a plus, but not required
Ability to work on a professional team as well as independently
