Payroll Specialist Role:
As the Payroll Specialist, you will manage full cycle payroll processing while providing light HR and administrative support. This short term assignment requires strong technical payroll knowledge and hands on Paylocity experience.
Payroll Processing Primary Focus
Process bi weekly full cycle payroll
Utilize Paylocity for payroll administration and reporting required
Audit and validate timekeeping data for accuracy
Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Process garnishments, child support orders, levies, and other withholdings
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with general ledger alignment
Maintain payroll records and support audit documentation
Respond to employee payroll related inquiries in a timely manner
Assist with onboarding documentation and system setup in Paylocity
Support benefits deductions and payroll-related changes
Maintain personnel files and ensure confidentiality
Generate payroll and headcount reports for leadership
Maintain organized payroll files and audit trails
Provide additional administrative support as needed during the contract period
Payroll Specialist Background Profile:
4+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
Recent, hands on Paylocity experience required
Experience processing multi-state payroll
Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to step in quickly with minimal training
