Payor Contract Manager Role:
The Payer Contract Manager will be responsible for all duties related to managing payer contracts, negotiations and renegotiations of new and existing payer contracts
Liaison between the company and insurance companies’ contract/network representatives
Build and maintain knowledge and expertise of managed care and commercial payors and contracts
Procure new contracts and rate/term updates to existing contracts
Negotiation of payment terms and rates for new and existing contracts efficiently and effectively that are favorable for the organization
Review of contract terms and conditions in order to facilitate accurate implementation of contracts
Track existing contracts for rate update opportunities
Respond to requests for capabilities and credentialing/re-credentialing
Responsible for internal communication regarding contract status, updates, new additions and changes
Responsible for maintaining internal insurance files
Payor Contract Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
3 - 5+ years of payor contracting experience required – provider side
Working knowledge of current policies and guidelines that affect contracts, pricing, rebates, legislative regulations, etc. in the managed care environment
MS Office Suite – specifically advanced Excel skills (basic sheet construction, pivot tables, hyperlinks)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential
Strong attention to detail
Ability to meet sensitive deadlines, organize workload with limited supervision
