Nurse Paralegal Role
This nurse paralegal will support plaintiffs attorneys on a variety of injury cases.
Medical Record Review: Collect, review, and summarize medical records, including identifying key medical issues, treatments, and potential areas of liability.
Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing case files, including maintaining accurate and organized medical records, legal documents, and correspondence.
Medical Research: Conduct medical research to support case development, including reviewing medical literature and consulting with medical experts.
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather medical histories, explain medical procedures, and provide updates on case progress.
Expert Witness Coordination: Identify and coordinate with medical experts, including scheduling depositions, obtaining expert reports, and preparing experts for trial testimony.
Legal Support: Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents, preparing for depositions, and trial preparation.
Litigation Support: Participate in trial preparation and support, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and coordinating trial logistics.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards, including maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Nurse Paralegal Background
Minimum 2+ years of Nurse Paralegal experience required
Must have prior experience drafting medical chronologies
Paralegal Certificate a plus but not mandatory
Prior experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years in acute care, emergency medicine, or related field is preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills
Candidate must possess the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Candidate must be punctual and enjoy working in a team environment
Candidate must be able to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
Candidate must have superior organizational skills
