Our client just south of Nashville, TN is seeking a Maintenance Manager on a direct-hire basis.
Maintenance Manager Role:
The Maintenance Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of our dedicated maintenance team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing various machines and equipment within our facility. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
Strategic Planning: Understand the critical role of the Maintenance group, with a focus on minimizing production downtime through effective scheduling and resource allocation.
Work Order Analysis: Evaluate work orders, estimate worker hours, and create schedules that align with both internal and external requirements.
Resource Management: Determine appropriate actions and personnel needed for work orders, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and tooling.
Project Evaluation: Assess special projects, program changes, and equipment modifications to ensure accurate updates to schematics and blueprints.
Preventative Maintenance: Establish work content and frequency for preventative maintenance activities, conducting spot inspections plantwide.
Data Management: Develop and maintain equipment specifications and history data, analyzing production equipment repair history and reports.
Downtime Monitoring: Monitor and track causes of production downtime, implementing effective countermeasures.
Team Leadership: Provide effective member relations, coaching, and development, while making equipment decisions and resolving concerns.
Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and rules, conducting interviews for maintenance and engineering vacancies.
Performance Evaluation: Track and perform member evaluations on schedule, fostering a positive work environment.
Facility Management: Oversee overall facility maintenance, including space allocation, layout, communication services, contracts, and grounds maintenance.
Cost Reduction Initiatives: Recognize and initiate cost reduction and manufacturing process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Stockroom Management: Manage the site stockroom, planning, scheduling, and ordering necessary materials, equipment, tools, and spare parts.
Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to production for tooling and equipment-related work orders, collaborating with outside contractors on repairs and improvements.
Safety and Training: Conduct thorough accident investigations, maintain the member timekeeping system, and ensure members receive appropriate training and development.
Discipline and Leadership Development: Counsel, record, and apply appropriate discipline as necessary, while developing team leaders to oversee daily routines.
Maintenance Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required or Technical School Certification
3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment specifically hydraulics
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and achieve results through others.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of the Toyota Production System and manufacturing processes.
Strong mechanical and electrical background, along with PLC knowledge.
