Litigation Legal Assistant Role:
The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys handling commercial litigation, employment litigation, and general civil litigation matters. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities include:
Providing litigation support for multiple attorneys throughout all phases of litigation
Drafting, proofreading, revising, and formatting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and legal documents
Managing electronic and physical case files and maintaining document organization
Coordinating state and federal court filings, including e-filing
Monitoring deadlines and maintaining attorney calendars
Scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, meetings, travel, and client appointments
Assisting with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, and depositions
Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties
Preparing expense reports, correspondence, presentations, and other administrative documents
Organizing exhibits and supporting documentation for litigation matters
Assisting with billing, filing, data entry, and general administrative support
Maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Litigation Legal Assistant Background Profile:
Associate degree or higher preferred
Minimum 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience required
Experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation, commercial litigation, employment litigation, or general litigation matters
Strong knowledge of Texas state court procedures
State and federal e-filing experience required
Experience with PACER and federal court procedures preferred
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience creating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities preferred
Strong document formatting and proofreading skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize competing tasks effectively
Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service and confidentiality
Experience with NetDocuments, Clio, or similar legal software is a plus
