Legal Assistant Role:
The Legal Assistant will support the delinquent tax collections process by assisting with the preparation filing and management of lawsuit-related documents. This position plays a key role in facilitating legal proceedings, providing essential administrative support and ensuring smooth communication with clients courts and other stakeholders.
Assist with lawsuit preparation including e-filing of pleadings citations correspondence and related documents.
Review and analyze property title reports for relevant information.
Conduct research to verify addresses for parties involved in lawsuits.
Monitor the progress of lawsuits, ensuring deadlines and legal requirements are met.
Provide support to attorneys in trial and docket preparation and assist during court proceedings.
Communicate effectively with court staff and other legal professionals.
Contribute to special projects as assigned by the team or supervisor.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the department’s needs.
Legal Assistant Background Profile:
Government office appraisal district title research or banking experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and 10-key calculator.
Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Must be a team player with professional communication skills.
Previous knowledge or experience with Texas property tax appraisal districts or real estate law is a plus.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
