Seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join a reputable Construction and Utility Services Firm in Athens, GA on a direct-hire basis.

Role: Human Resources Manager

We are in search of a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Manager to revamp HR functions within a thriving construction and utility services company. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor, possess strong employee relations skills, drive process improvements, and uphold compliance while enhancing the overall employee experience.

  • Revise and optimize existing HR policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead HR modernization initiatives across various areas including onboarding, compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to nurture a positive, respectful workplace culture that encourages accountability and professional growth.
  • Direct full-cycle recruitment for skilled trade and professional roles, ensuring alignment with company values and consistency.
  • Revamp and implement an engaging onboarding experience to drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Administer benefits, compensation programs, and leave policies in full compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and safety regulations.
  • Oversee HR records, reporting, and HRIS administration, utilizing HR metrics to support business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within construction, utilities, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and enhancing HR processes, systems, and programs.
  • Deep understanding of employment law, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.
