Human Resource Generalist

Our client, located in Waco, TX, is in immediate need of a contract HR Generalist to cover for a maternity leave. This position does have a possibility of going contract to hire.

HR Generalist Role:
The main purpose of this role is to handle employee relations for the company
Organize performance reviews, employee improvement plans, and employee growth plans
Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
Identifies potential employee-relations issues and makes recommendations to management.
Coordinates hiring process, including but not limited to recruiting and screening candidates, managing interview process, drafting and sending offer letters, conducting background and reference checks, and our bi-monthly new employee orientation.
Conducts investigations into claims of harassment or other company-guideline violations.
Conducts exit interviews with employees; communicates findings to management.
Responds to inquiries regarding the organization’ s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
Conducts ongoing information and training sessions to develop employees and provide support and problem resolution.
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart.
Coordinates administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
Administers company compensation and benefits programs.
Be the primary backup for our monthly employee meeting and payroll processing, including; bi-weekly and semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
HR Generalist Background Profile:
3+ years of Human Resources Generalist work with an emphasis on Employee Relations
Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
Must have a calm demeanor and not be reactive
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
Proficient on MS Office and is comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
