Human Resources Associate
Our client based in Washington D.C. is seeking a Human Resources Associate for an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity within a well-known Christian organization.

Role Overview:
- Manage full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements, necessary skills, and competencies for open positions
- Update and draft job descriptions in partnership with HR leadership
- Oversee background checks and employment eligibility verifications
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding process
- Execute employee recognition programs
- Provide guidance on DC Paid Family Leave, FMLA, and other Leave of Absence (LOA) regulations
- Manage employee communication platforms and digital boards
- Stay abreast of employment laws and regulations and recommend policy updates for compliance
- Offer policy guidance and documentation to employees
- Track HR metrics, prepare reports, and suggest process enhancements
- Keep informed on HR best practices, trends, and technologies
- Foster engagement culture consistent with the organization's mission
- Perform additional duties as required
Background Profile:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 1 year of recruitment and/or HR generalist experience
- Alignment with Christian organization’s mission and values
- Understanding of employment laws and regulations
- Preferred PHR or other HR certification
- Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and ability to quickly adapt to HRIS and talent management systems
- Strong professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable in fast-paced environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Positive, energetic, and team-oriented
