HR Manager Role:
The HR Manager will serve as a hands-on leader within a small, tenured HR team, overseeing core HR operations and ensuring compliance, consistency, and a strong employee experience across the organization.
The HR Manager will be responsible for day-to-day HR execution including employee relations, leave administration, benefits, compliance, and policy management.
This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, and requires someone who thrives in a structured, in-office environment with high visibility across the organization.
Own and administer full-cycle leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and all other employee leave types with strict compliance adherence
Serve as the primary lead for employee relations, handling sensitive issues, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns with professionalism, tact, and discretion
Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, documentation, and disciplinary actions
Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
Ensure consistent application of employment law compliance, with emphasis on federal and Tennessee regulations and exposure to multi-state requirements
Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, vendor coordination, claims resolution, and invoice reconciliation
Support recruiting and onboarding efforts for salaried employees
Maintain accurate and compliant HR records, files, and documentation systems
Manage HR systems and portals, including Paycom
Provide backup support for payroll processing functions as needed
Support development, updates, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures
Prepare and maintain required internal and regulatory HR reporting
Act as a trusted HR resource with an open-door approach to employees and leadership
HR Manager Background Profile:
6+ years of progressive HR experience (10+ years strongly preferred)
Bachelor’s degree required
SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of employment law (federal + Tennessee required)
Demonstrated experience in leave administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.) required
Multi-state HR compliance experience
Experience in manufacturing or operational environments
Background in small to mid-sized organizations where HR professionals wear multiple hats
Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS
Strong track record of job stability and tenure
