HR Generalist Role:
The human resources generalist supports our company by ensuring smooth and efficient business operations, administrative and strategic responsibilities and will assist with crucial functions such as staffing, training, development, compensation, and benefits.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers and employees (i.e., coaching, counseling, training, mentoring, disciplinary actions).
Receive and respond to general HR questions and concerns from managers and employees.
Create, review and update job descriptions to ensure employees can meet expectations and requirements.
Stay up to date on staffing needs. Lead recruitment efforts including job postings, interviews, employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives to ensure proper staffing levels.
Reviewing background checks and verifying employee eligibility for hire
Tracking compliance with continuing education, including professional licensure, field-specific certifications, anti-harassment training, and safety training.
Attend, participate in, and maintain records related to employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Interact with employees to better understand workplace complaints, conduct appropriate investigations, and resolve disputes within situations that might have varying degrees of ambiguity, including excellent follow through and documentation.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Be well-versed on company values, performance and behavior expectations, and progressive disciplinary philosophy.
Create and implement policy and procedures as well as update accordingly.
Develop proficiency in HR tools and programs to support employees and managers in daily activities.
Advise and train managers in best employee relations practices and strategies.
Maintain employee and workplace confidentiality.
Report performance using KPIs and business metrics.
Administer and ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
HR Generalist Background Profile:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant field.
3+ years professional experience in Human Resources including benefits administration.
SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in demanding situations.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage through ambiguity and change.
Natural problem-solving abilities to improve situations for employees and business objectives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the capacity to successfully relate to all hierarchical levels.
Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
