Director of Marketing Role:
The Director of Marketing drives brand growth, customer engagement, and revenue generation through data-driven strategy and creative execution. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management to elevate brand awareness, strengthen guest loyalty, and expand market share across both traditional and digital channels.
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive brand strategy that supports organizational goals and enhances customer experience.
Utilize demographic and behavioral data to design targeted marketing initiatives that build guest loyalty, attract new audiences, and maximize ROI.
Manage integrated marketing communications across print, digital, social, and in-store channels to ensure consistent voice, visual identity, and message.
Oversee public relations activities, acting as company spokesperson when needed, and manage proactive brand reputation strategies.
Plan and track marketing performance metrics to assess impact, optimize campaigns, and inform strategic decisions.
Direct the creation and execution of promotional and experiential events, including new store openings, community partnerships, and vendor-supported programs.
Lead the continuous evolution of the company website and digital platforms to optimize user experience, content relevance, and lead generation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Merchandising, and eCommerce to align marketing initiatives with company objectives.
Manage and forecast the marketing budget to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximum return on investment.
Drive market and consumer research programs to capture the “Voice of the Customer” and implement insights into marketing strategies.
Monitor competitive activity and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management for marketing and design teams to ensure professional growth and operational excellence.
Maintain professional expertise by engaging in continuous learning, benchmarking, and networking within the marketing community.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational integrity to achieve exceptional results.
Director of Marketing Background Profile:
Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of marketing experience, preferably in retail, grocery, or consumer-facing industries.
Proven success in event management, campaign execution, and cross-channel marketing leadership.
Experience with public relations and brand reputation management preferred.
Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with modern marketing tools and analytics platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Detail-oriented and quality-driven with a passion for continuous improvement.

Mike Cook or as he is known in the industry "Grocery Store Mike", is a specialized grocery retail recruiter for Frontline Source Group. With more than 35+ years in the grocery retail industry, Mike started as a part-time courtesy clerk. He worked his way up to serve in-store leadership positions with both traditional and specialty food formats. He also has earned certificates of proficiency in management specialized leadership and retail management from Tyler Junior College. The later certification was in collaboration with the Western Association of Food Chains. And, he has received numerous awards and accolades for customer service and leadership.
Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
