Job Description:
The Bakery Merchandiser is responsible for maintaining the visual appeal, freshness, and strategic placement of bakery products in retail locations. This role requires a blend of creativity and analytical thinking to drive sales, uphold brand standards, and enhance the overall customer shopping experience.
- Create and maintain visually appealing bakery displays that adhere to brand guidelines and seasonal themes.
- Ensure product quality and freshness.
- Collaborate with store management and bakery teams to plan product placement, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
- Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and customer preferences to make informed merchandising decisions.
- Coordinate new product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and store sanitation standards.
- Provide feedback to corporate leadership on customer trends and competitor activities.
- Train in-store bakery staff on display maintenance and promotional execution.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of merchandising experience in a bakery setting.
- Strong organizational and visual merchandising skills.
- Excellent communication and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel between store locations.
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
