Human Resources Manager:
We are seeking an experienced Retail Human Resources Manager to oversee all HR functions supporting a workforce of 250+ employees across multiple retail locations in the Baltimore area. The ideal candidate is proactive, people-focused, and passionate about driving organizational culture, engagement, and compliance within a fast-paced retail environment.
Lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
Partner with store and corporate leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals and ensure consistent employee experiences.
Develop and implement policies and practices that promote a positive workplace culture, retention, and productivity.
Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
Manage HR compliance and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
Oversee payroll and benefits administration in coordination with corporate HR and external vendors.
Analyze workforce data and metrics to support decision-making and reporting.
Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and engagement.

Human Resources Manager Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a retail or multi-site environment.
Strong working knowledge of employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues with tact and fairness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll software.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

The later certification was in collaboration with the Western Association of Food Chains. And, he has received numerous awards and accolades for customer service and leadership.
Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
