PT Retail Pharmacist Role:
We seek a dedicated Licensed Pharmacist to deliver pharmaceutical services and medication expertise to patients in our retail pharmacy environment. This role focuses on prescription accuracy, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and promoting community health through professional consultation services.
Process and fulfill patient prescriptions with precision and efficiency
Conduct thorough verification of prescription authenticity, dosing protocols, and medication safety
Execute proper medication labeling, packaging, and quality control procedures
Deliver professional guidance on prescription medications and non-prescription remedies
Counsel patients on potential adverse effects, drug interactions, and therapeutic management
Address health inquiries and provide clinical consultations for minor health concerns and wellness optimization
Maintain strict adherence to federal and state pharmaceutical regulations, including DEA controlled substance protocols
Keep comprehensive prescription records, inventory documentation, and patient information systems
Uphold HIPAA privacy standards for all patient healthcare information
Guide customers in selecting suitable OTC healthcare products for their specific needs
Share expertise on nutritional supplements, vitamins, and wellness merchandise
Support customers with health product education and recommendations
Monitor pharmaceutical stock levels and coordinate supply replenishment
Manage controlled substance inventory with precise tracking and secure storage protocols
Execute proper disposal procedures for expired medications per regulatory guidelines
Coordinate with physicians and medical professionals to clarify prescription orders and address concerns
Recommend therapeutic alternatives and dosage modifications when clinically appropriate
Mentor and supervise pharmacy technicians and student interns
Oversee daily pharmacy workflow to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance
Administer vaccinations including seasonal flu immunizations per state authorization
Conduct health screenings such as blood pressure monitoring and cholesterol testing when available
Deliver preventive health services as permitted by pharmacy scope of practice
Provide outstanding patient service through professional interactions and problem resolution
Maintain an organized, clean workspace to ensure optimal safety and positive customer experiences
PT Retail Pharmacist Background Profile:
Doctor of Pharmacy Pharm.D. degree from ACPE accredited pharmacy program
Current State Pharmacist License Colorado
Valid DEA registration for controlled substance handling
Immunization administration certification
Specialized disease management credentials
Additional clinical certifications are valued
Critical attention to detail for medication dispensing and record management
Ability to translate complex pharmaceutical information into patient-friendly guidance
Experience with pharmacy management software, prescription processing platforms, and automated dispensing equipment
Strong interpersonal abilities for patient engagement and conflict resolution
Stamina for extended standing periods and repetitive tasks including medication counting and data entry
Position requires flexibility for various shifts including evening hours, weekend coverage, and holiday availability based on pharmacy operating schedule.
