General Merchandise Category Business Analyst Role:

As a pivotal member of the Marketing and Merchandising Category team, the General Merchandise Category Business Analyst will play a critical role in driving data-driven insights and visualization strategies while also maintaining vital business reporting functions. Collaborating on various projects within the Category Management team, the Category Business Analyst will specialize in a general merchandise. This role involves:
Conducting advanced data analytics and visualization to identify consumer trends and marketing opportunities for both customers and stores.
Analyzing category-related data to uncover trends, performance metrics, competitive threats, and growth opportunities to inform strategic business decisions.
Generating regular and ad hoc reports encompassing out-of-stock items, SKU rationalization, promotion analysis, pricing studies, sales performance, and more.
Delivering insightful information to internal stakeholders to guide effective decision-making processes.
Collaborating closely with internal teams, offering robust analysis and insights to support key business determinations.
Managing projects by creating comprehensive plans, well-defined processes, and timelines to ensure successful project execution.
Utilizing field analysis outcomes to propose actionable improvements.
Developing customized reports tailored for category managers, directors, and executives.
Coordinating with IT to ensure data requirements are met and deepening understanding of data flow and accessibility.
Identifying market needs and gaps, contributing to growth strategies for the designated areas.
Fulfilling any additional duties as required and assigned.

General Merchandise Category Business Analyst Background Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in data analysis, including proficiency in handling large-scale data and conducting customer segmentation analysis.
Multi-state experience, preferably.
Strong analytical acumen with meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or MicroStrategy.
Demonstrated prowess in solution-driven analytics and report development.
Effective project planning abilities encompassing scope and timeline management
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to interpret and leverage data for strategic recommendations.
Capable of fulfilling essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
