Our client in San Luis Obispo County, CA has an immediate opening for a General Manager on a direct hire basis.

General Manager:
The General Manager oversees total store operations based on the goals, objectives, and standards of the company. The ideal individual will have a servant’s heart, an eye for detail and a passion for food.
Oversee, assist, and supervise all department managers in planning and performance to achieve established goals and objectives.
Provide a model of supportive and participatory leadership promoting the concepts of collaboration and team building.
Oversee the monitoring and managing of all controllable expenditures within the established budget to maximize cash flow, EBITDA, sales, shrink, gross margin, and net profit.
Oversee the hiring and training of employees as well as performance evaluations and corrective actions when necessary.
Understand and utilize the financial tools and reports available to support operations.
Monitor store conditions to meet customer service objectives and goals.
Help direct and maintain inventory levels and company merchandising standards to meet company objectives of maximizing sales and inventory turns while reducing out-of-stocks.
Negotiate with supplier/vendor on cost, terms, quality, and delivery.
Monitor all sanitation and cleaning logs throughout all areas/departments of the store.
Perform periodic equipment checks to evaluate performance and safety.
Understand, implement required programs, manage, and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
Strong understanding and compliance of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery as applicable.
Conduct regular staff/leadership meetings.
Stays up to date regarding local community activities and events that could impact store business.
Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

General Manager Background Profile:
Associate Degree in related field and five or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
Manager Food Safety certification required.
Knowledge of organic and commercial growing practices.
Knowledge of current trends in conventional and organic food industry.
