Family Law Paralegal Role:
The Family Law Paralegal will be assisting the managing partner with various aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and domestic violence matters.
Conduct legal research on relevant laws, statutes, and case precedents.
Draft legal documents, including petitions, complaints, motions, and affidavits.
Assist with the discovery process by gathering and organizing relevant documents and preparing discovery requests.
Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and address their concerns.
Prepare clients for court appearances, hearings, and depositions.
File documents with the court and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
Manage case files, including organizing documents, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
Coordinate with attorneys and other legal professionals to facilitate the progress of cases.
Conduct legal intake interviews with potential clients and assess the viability of their cases.
Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
Family Law Paralegal Profile:
Working knowledge of legal language and Documents as well
Must be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel
Knowledge of Legal software and Sage Timeslips a plus
ProDoc experience a plus
At Least 5 years of experience in a Family Law
Be able to execute documents with accuracy and in a timely manner
Able to multitask
High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to plan, organize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
