Estate Planning Legal Assistant Role
This estate planning legal assistant will support 4 Probate and Trust/Estate Attorneys in a busy and dynamic estate planning and probate practice. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of related legal administrative experience
Familiarity with estate planning and/or probate matters
Prepare and draft legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents
Provide legal and administrative (clerical) support to assigned attorneys
Prepare letters, memos, pleadings and other documentation as required
File pleadings (electronically or otherwise) with the appropriate court system
Make travel arrangements
Prepare expense reimbursement documentation
Provide documentation, as required, to clients, opposing counsel, and others
Enter information into the system for the purpose of running conflict checks and new client setup information as well as preparation of supporting documentation
Maintain an appropriate filing system for physical and electronic files for all attorney and client work, including utilizing electronic file sharing systems
Answer incoming phone calls for assigned attorneys, unless otherwise directed
Enter attorney time
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned
Estate Planning Legal Assistant Background Profile
5+ years of Estate Planning legal assistant experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Required typing of 65+wpm
Candidate must be highly detailed
Candidate must be an excellent proofreader
Candidate must have excellent communication skills
