Building Engineer - 3rd Shift
Job Description
Our client in Dallas, Texas is seeking a dedicated 3rd Shift Building Engineer to join their team on a direct hire basis.
About the Company:
- Located in Dallas, TX
- Offers an organized and professional work environment
- Manages a small office within a large property building
- Working hours: Tuesday - Saturday from 11 PM to 7 AM (3rd shift/overnight)
Responsibilities of the 3rd Shift Building Engineer:
- Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, HVAC, life safety, and control systems
- Monitor and maintain various building equipment
- Oversee lighting systems and necessary retrofits
- Utilize CMMS for equipment tracking and work orders
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests
- Supervise work completed by outside vendors and contractors
- Proactively inspect the property's interior and exterior
- Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies
- Support other engineers with daily tasks and inspections
- Participate in emergency response procedures and safety training
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
Requirements for the 3rd Shift Building Engineer:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations or maintenance
- Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems
- Proficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and maintenance best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair building equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High-rise or Class A commercial building experience is a plus
- HVAC technical training and EPA refrigeration certification preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Physical ability to lift/move heavy objects and perform various tasks
- Strong attendance record and punctuality
