Electrical Engineer for New Product Development Role:
In this role you will report to the New Product Development (NPD) Manager and play a crucial role in the development, design, and testing of new products.
You will assist with the development of new products for the company, and participate in all phases of product development including research, design, production and marketing. Use research on customer demand and industry trends to develop product ideas; build and test product prototypes; evaluate production options and costs.
Responsible for managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that target dates and costs are met.
Collaborate with the Mechanical Design Engineer, as well as production engineering and plant personnel to ensure successful project execution.
Leverage engineering principles and application knowledge to develop new and innovative design ideas focused on electrification, connectivity, user-experience, and improved system efficiencies and reliability.
Apply systematic problem-solving skills to identify failure modes, develop solutions, and validate design improvements of electrical and electromechanical issues.
Coordinate cross-functionally with product management, test, software, modeling & simulation, field personnel, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Develop and execute test plans (component and system level) for reliability, durability, performance, and safety.
Evaluate and provide written responses to product definition documents, assessing the technical feasibility of proposed projects.
Perform all necessary engineering performance calculations.
Develop conceptual drawings to visualize product ideas.
Oversee the construction of prototypes.
Conduct tests to establish prototype design compliance with industry standards and good engineering practices.
Create bills of materials for the new product.
Provide engineering performance data to support the development of marketing literature for the final product configuration.
Coordinate agency testing and obtain necessary approvals for the new product.
Manage and travel for final product testing and agency approval procedures, ensuring successful setup and testing.
Adhere to all Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives, and obligations.


Electrical Engineer for New Product Development Background Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
1-5 years of related experience
Must have circuit design (24V/120V/460V), development of electrical schematics, configuring and maintenance of bills of material, calculation of MCA/MOP/SCCR, adherence to design standards
Sizing and selection of electrical power components for circuits up to and including 575v/3ph.
Design of low voltage electromechanical control circuits.
Design of PLC and microprocessor-based control circuits.
Basic understanding of high voltage conversion for computer facility power distribution.
Knowledge of DDC controls and rudimentary programming.
Sufficient proficiency in CAD design tools to develop prototype drawings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High technical proficiency.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
