Electrical Engineer – Medical Device
Our client, located in Fort Worth, TX is in need of an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in circuit design. This is a contract position that is estimated to last 1 year. There is a high likelihood that this person will be hired by the company after the 1 year contract.

Electrical Design - Medical Device Role:
Manage a small group of 2-3 electrical engineers and technicians in the design development of electronics for medical devices.
Perform detailed design of microprocessor/micro-controller based electro-mechanical platforms utilizing specialized micro peripherals including, BLDC motors, electronically controlled valves, medical power supplies, LCD screens, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Flash Memory, etc. This will include drawing of circuits following basic analysis and design activity using a Altium.
Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to ensure designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, customer focused, and reliable
Prepare technical data such as design verification test results, written work instructions, PCB placement and routing guidelines and similar technical instruction documents.
Maintain organized history of design artifacts utilizing a version control system.
Assist in preparing proposal documentation and integrate into customer specifications
Other duties as assigned.
20% of the time will be spent managing products and 80% will be spent in detailed design

Electrical Design - Medical Device Background Profile:
Bachelor’ s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent      10+ years of circuit design experience with significant emphasis on mixed signal and embedded system hardware design.
Previous experience managing design projects to completion.
Linear and switch mode power supplies for portable electronics
Charging and protection circuits for Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer batteries
RF/wireless systems.
Brushless DC Motor controllers.
Design and test for compliance with regulatory standards (UL, FCC, etc.)
Design and test for industry EMC standards (surge, ESD, etc.)
Experience with PCB layouts, preferably Altium PLUS++
Understanding of quality systems and regulations used for medical device design and manufacturing.
Proficient in Design FMEA/FMECA and Design Verification and Validation activities
