District Manager Role:
Report to the General Manager
Responsible for all the operations of two transfer stations
Supervise station’s operators, laborers, and all other personnel assigned
Oversee all recruiting and hiring needs
Provide consistent feedback to the GM regarding station operations
Generate required reports and paperwork requested by the GM
Frequent inspection of station areas for cleanliness
Regularly inspect the heavy equipment and trailers as a preventative measure
Schedule and supervise maintenance activities
Investigate and document accidents and property damage
Conduct and document safety instructional meetings with personnel
Responds to after-hours calls and fill in for other employees when required
District Manager Background Profile:
Requires a High School Diploma
A minimum of two years of solid waste experience is preferred but open considering candidates from logistic companies that employ contract drivers
Minimum two years of supervisory work experience with training, schedules, etc.
Experience with safety training, preventative measures, and incident investigation/reporting
Strong awareness of metric and KPI-driven activity
Understanding of analytical reports and profitability statements
Must be willing to frequently visit the two stations, minimum of 75% of time spent in the field
Understanding of OSHA policies
Understanding of local government regulations as they pertain to waste and environmental compliance is highly preferred
Familiar with the mechanical operations of diesel equipment such as medium to large trucks or semi-trucks, front loaders, tractors, or similar equipment is highly preferred
Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment if needed
