District Manager Job Summary

The District Manager will be responsible for managing operations across 8–10 retail grocery stores in a designated region. This role focuses on optimizing store performance, enhancing profitability, and ensuring consistent customer satisfaction and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a background in multi-unit retail management, strategic thinking, and a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at multiple grocery store locations.
  • Lead and mentor store managers to achieve sales, service, and operational objectives.
  • Implement strategic initiatives to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Conduct regular store visits to evaluate performance and maintain brand standards.
  • Analyze financial results and KPIs to identify trends and enhancement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR and training teams to recruit, train, and develop effective store leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and local regulations.
  • Manage inventory control, cost efficiency, and shrink reduction strategies.
  • Support new store launches, seasonal promotions, and corporate initiatives.
  • Cultivate a team culture centered on accountability, performance, and exceptional service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of multi-unit management experience in the grocery or retail sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting financial targets and operational performance goals.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in financial data interpretation.
  • Competency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned district.

Mike has a passion for community service, having served as a board member for the Bear Creek Specialty Utility District (formerly Lavon Water Supply Corporation) from 2007-2013; Community Independent School District board trustee from 2013-2017; and currently serves as Lavon City Councilman, Place 2 since 2017.
