Director of Warehouse Operations
Job Description
Our client, a growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, is hiring a hands-on Director of Warehouse Operations to lead day-to-day warehouse operations in a multi-customer environment. This leader will drive safety, service, and operational performance while building strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
Director of Warehouse Operations Responsibilities:
- Lead daily warehouse operations across shipping/receiving, dock activity, inventory flow, and storage utilization.
- Supervise and develop warehouse leaders and hourly associates; ensure staffing plans support customer demand.
- Partner with customers to ensure service expectations are met and issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Oversee Warehouse Management System (WMS) execution, process compliance, and accurate inventory transactions.
- Build, maintain, and enforce SOPs and standard work; conduct audits and implement improvements.
- Manage performance to KPIs (productivity, accuracy, on-time shipment, quality) and drive corrective action using data and root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support operational changes, onboarding of new accounts, and growth initiatives.
- Assist with vendor/partner coordination to support flexible staffing and service requirements.
Director of Warehouse Operations Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive warehouse leadership experience with direct people management.
- 3PL experience required (multi-customer warehousing with service-level commitments).
- Strong working knowledge of WMS-driven warehouse operations and inventory control practices.
- Proven ability to manage in a fast-paced environment and lead teams through shifting priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Comfortable using operational metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Director of Warehouse Operations Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience supporting customer onboarding, start-ups, or site expansions.
- Lean / continuous improvement training or practical application.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven warehouse environments
Location / Schedule
- On-site role in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
