Director of Revenue Cycle Role:
The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, legislative, compliance, programmatic and personnel activities for Revenue Cycle, including establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for the organization
Actively oversees the efficiency of the revenue cycle and takes action to address issues both within and outside revenue cycle department
Ensures a clear understanding of the revenue cycle, responsibilities and the need for a team approach to achieve goals
Provide staff training to ensure proper billing, coding, cash, insurance and denial management reimbursement proceduresÂ
Ensures all regulatory changes are implemented and that staff is appropriately oriented to changes in a timely manner
Encourages personal staff development and appropriate certifications
Prepares a variety of statistical reports for CFO, including, but not limited to, AR, Benchmark, monthly collections, etc.
Produces a variety of reports, including, but not limited to, coding, accounts receivable, denials, chardge capture etc. to maximize the effectiveness of all procedures
Follow up with managers to ensure that all procedures are reviewed and updated as needed
Oversee all provider enrollment processes
Ensure that all new providers are appropriately credentialed for billing purposes
Develop and establish operating policies for the overall revenue cycle management functionsÂ
Director of Revenue Cycle Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.  Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of experience in health care finance management position
Minimum of 5 in a supervisory/management positionÂ
Knowledge of Charge Master procedures required
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large contracts
Working knowledge of revenue cycle (billing/reimbursement/coding/third party billing requirements) process required
Valid Certified Healthcare Financial Professional certification (CHFP) preferred
MEDITECH, EPIC, and/or Athena experience highly preferredÂ
Proficient with MS Suite, particularly Excel
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Ability to work as a Team
