Director of Perishables:

The Director of Perishables ensures the successful operation and execution of all areas of production and sales in the meat department, seafood department, deli department, kitchen, prepared foods and café. The ideal individual will have a servant’s heart and an eye for detail.
Assist and supervise all department managers in planning and performance to achieve all established goals and objectives.
Provide a model of supportive and participatory leadership promoting the concepts of collaboration and team building.
Oversee the management of all controllable expenditures within the established budget to maximize cash flow, EBITDA, sales, shrink, gross margin, and net profit for each department and location.
Understand and utilize the financial tools and reports available to support operations.
Monitor store conditions to meet customer service objectives and goals.
Responsible for multiple stores including merchandising, product mix, product costs, and the supervision of department managers.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the stores.
Ensures all federal, state and company regulations and standards for food safety and sanitation are met.
Train and develop department managers and oversee staff development.

Director of Perishables Background Profile:

Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
Food Safety Management certification required.
Multi-Unit and Department leadership required.
