Our client in Dallas, TX has an immediate opening for a Executive Chef – Research and Development on a direct hire basis.

Director of Food Service Role:
As Director of Food Service, you will lead our Bakery and Deli – Prepared Foods departments. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in creating outstanding customer experience, achieving sales and profit goals, and upholding quality assurance standards.
Develop strategic scheduling to balance customer volume with associate needs.
Cultivate an environment where customers and associates feel welcome, valued, and appreciated by providing product knowledge and guidance throughout the store.
Design Plan-o-grams that cater to customer needs through SKU Rationalization, ensuring ease of shopping.
Achieve budgeted sales, profit, and labor goals for the department.
Develop and implement a sales strategy that remains current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
Collaborate with store management in budget preparation, profit and loss reviews, and take decisive action on all financial reports.
Maintain vigilance over inventory/stocking conditions and promptly address discrepancies.
Lead daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process with precision.
Observe and ensure adherence to scheduled shift operating hours.
Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
Establish and empower associates to meet or exceed performance goals for the department.
Set budgets, monitor, and control expenses for the departments.
Define KPIs for the team, provide training and development opportunities, and review the overall outcome of the performance appraisal process.
Train department associates on inventory/stocking and ordering through production log utilization.
Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Oversee, manage, and contribute to new store/department set-ups, remodels, and resets.
Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to determine optimal production methods for the assortment.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and guidelines.
Monitor and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
Guarantee associate participation in mandatory training programs.
Ensure compliance with current rules on merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate, and customer engagement.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and promptly communicating with the appropriate personnel.
Practice preventive maintenance by regularly inspecting equipment and promptly notifying appropriate personnel of any items in need of repair.
Assist in the development and implementation of "THE COMPANY WAY" SOPs for all departments.

Director of Food Service Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, Food Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
10+ years of management experience.
Extensive experience in leadership roles within the prepared foods arena.
Demonstrated experience with Latin cuisine. Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
Strong culinary creativity and innovation skills.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Previous retail experience.
Proficiency in culinary software and menu development tools.
