Our client located in Houston, TX is in need of an Desktop Support Specialist Role. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Desktop Support Specialist Role:
Desktop Support Specialist will support field operations including incident and problem management, service requests, and access management.
Coordinate with application owners regarding application service and support as well as on solution transitioning to operations.
Coordinate with the infrastructure team to ensure continuity of service operations.
Serve as point of contact to vendors.
Desktop Support Specialist will consistently meet the Service Agreement Levels.
Support daily operations by identifying and logging incidents and or issues.
Urgently restore any operation issues to normal service levels and minimize adverse impact on operations.
Be readily available to authorized users for requests to receive standard services.
Consistently follow the defined approval and qualification process for support services.
Desktop Support Specialist will assign trouble tickets per SALs using the prioritization process by recording the incident, recognition of issue, implement resolution and follow up.
Provide appropriate access rights to users and prevent access from unauthorized users.
Verify all support solutions meet the defined criteria used to assess the readiness for go live.
Resolve tickets requiring field support mobilization per the SLAs at the identified locations.
Desktop Support Specialist will at all times maintain database knowledge and manage problem resolution.
Provide IT support services to business users.
Identify and prioritise application support needs, issues, and their resolution.
Desktop Support Specialist Background Profile:
Degree Engineering or Computer Science preferred
2+ years of IT service delivery experience
Familiarity working with SQL based applications
Proven experience working within Service Agreement Levels
Must have strong experience handling service requests and the service desk process
Strong understanding of service development, operation tools, and customer management skills
Understand business issues to best provide support and resolution
