Our client in Dallas, TX has an immediate opening for a Deli Kitchen Merchandiser on a direct hire basis.

Deli Kitchen Merchandiser Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Deli Kitchen Merchandiser to lead our kitchen departments in providing exceptional customer experiences and achieving departmental sales and profit goals. The ideal candidate will oversee all kitchen operations, encourage innovation, and uphold our commitment to operational excellence. This role involves directing and supervising all kitchen activities, supporting day-to-day operations, and embracing a customer-first strategy.
Develop schedules that balance customer traffic with associate availability.
Create a welcoming and appreciative environment for both customers and associates, addressing product-related queries.
Develop and implement Plan-o-grams to enhance customer convenience and streamline shopping experiences.
Achieve budgeted sales, profit, and labor goals for the kitchen department.
Create and maintain sales strategies aligned with current, future, seasonal, and special promotions.
Assist in budget preparation, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate actions based on financial reports.
Monitor and correct inventory discrepancies, ensuring optimal stocking conditions.
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly price changes through shelf tags and promotional signage.
Plan, organize, and oversee inventory processes.
Communicate relevant information to associates and establish departmental performance goals.
Control departmental expenses and coach associates to meet performance standards.
Train and develop managers on job performance, participating in the appraisal process.
Supervise and coach direct reports, providing performance feedback.
Oversee new store setups, remodels, and resets in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
Maintain compliance with all food safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring proper temperature controls.
Ensure associate participation in mandatory training programs and compliance with company policies.
Promote safety by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and conducting preventive maintenance.
Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the kitchen departments.
Achieves results through teamwork and effective coaching.
Communicates effectively and candidly.
Executes tasks with excellence and leads change and innovation.
Provides clear and strategic direction.
Prioritizes customer satisfaction.

Deli Kitchen Merchandiser Background Profile:
3-5 years of multi-unit kitchen management experience, with a focus on scratch recipes and freshly prepared items.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Knowledge of retail math, recipe measurements, food costing, margins, and sales forecasting.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must meet the physical demands of the position and be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.
Management and food retail experience preferred.
Food Safety Certification preferred.
