Controller Role:
The Controller will oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, account analysis and payroll functions.
Oversees infrastructure and activities of the accounting and finance functions, including a/p, cash management, financial/management reporting, and analysis.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.
Responsible for quarterly and annual tax filings.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Controller Background Profile:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
6+ years of progressive related experience.
CPA preferred.
Healthcare or medical practice experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, and accounting software.
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and have attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
