Our client operates within a global, project-based industry, supporting large-scale initiatives in the energy and infrastructure sector.ÂÂ
Controller Role
The Controller will oversee consolidated reporting under US GAAP and Japanese GAAP, manage audits and tax processes, and implement system upgrades to enhance accuracy and efficiency. This position requires both technical expertise and strong leadership to guide a growing team and support ongoing business expansion.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
Lead external financial reporting and consolidated statements
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure full audit compliance
Manage tax filings and relationships with external tax advisors
Apply accounting treatments per US GAAP, Japanese GAAP, and internal policies
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and reporting standards
Provide accounting guidance on new business transactions and complex issues
Lead accounting system implementation or upgrade initiatives (e.g., SAP, OneStream, or similar)
Collaborate with subsidiaries for consolidated financial reporting
Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and the audit committee
Manage, mentor, and evaluate a team of accountants and contractors
Controller Backgroud Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; active CPA license
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and complex accounting transactions
Proven leadership in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit coordination
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred experience:
Multinational or complex corporate environments
Energy industry background
Familiarity with Diva, OneStream, or SAP systems
Cross-cultural or bilingual reporting experience
