Controller Role:
The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing a diverse array of financial functions to ensure the financial health and compliance of the organizationÂ
Conducting cash forecasting and meticulously preparing and reviewing profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial job reviews.
Supervising the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with accounting principles.
Orchestrating cash flow forecasting, job cost accounting, and financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
Guaranteeing accurate and punctual financial reporting, adhering rigorously to the company’s financial closing schedule.
Steering accounting operations, encompassing ledger accounts, receivables, payables, and payroll processing.
Establishing and upholding internal controls to protect company assets and uphold integrity in financial transactions and reporting.
Collaborating seamlessly with external auditors for the annual audit, furnishing requisite information and implementing recommended enhancements.
Crafting and overseeing the annual budget, forecasting financial outcomes, and promptly reporting variances to the management team.
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and managing tax filings.
Nurturing the professional growth of the accounting team through mentorship, identifying training needs and overseeing professional development.
Controller Background Profile:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with preference for an advanced degree or certification (CPA or CMA).
A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with 3-5 years specifically within construction, electrical, or restoration sectors.
Profound knowledge of construction accounting, particularly job cost and percentage of completion accounting.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is essential, along with advanced Excel skills.
Experience with NetSuite and Procore is advantageous.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
A collaborative team player mindset, adept at working harmoniously with colleagues.Â
