Government Contracts Manager Role:
Government Contracts Manager is responsible for implementation and oversight of the compliance program for government and supporting overall growth and strategy.  
Provide critical support to the U.S. business teams with full life-cycle contract management primarily for direct U.S. government contracts and contracts with prime contractors and ongoing compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). 
Draft, review, negotiate and execute a broad range of contracts and agreements, including nondisclosure agreements, sales representative agreements, distributor agreements, domestic and international sales contracts, and long-term agreements, and U.S. grant/cooperative agreements.
Complete comprehensive reviews of customer contracts and terms and conditions to identify, mitigate, and eliminate unusual risks, liabilities, and remedies per Corporate policies and sound business judgment.
Provide interpretation of contract terms and conditions to management and other functional groups.
Identify and manage contract changes, act as a focal point for internal and external customer communications on contract matters and resolve complex customer and contract problems and issues.
Work with and coordinate among multiple functional groups to develop and maintain a compliance program to assure strict compliance with all regulations regarding government contracting. 
Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and training to support the compliance program.
Assist sales and marketing with proposal strategies for new and existing markets and products.
Provide legal interpretation and clarification on contractual/accounting regulatory matters related to government contracting and guidance that ensures profitability on all contractual actions.
Oversee and manage business system reviews, cost, and compliance audits.
Work with the International Trade Compliance (ITC) group, and others, to ensure strict compliance with applicable Import/Export Laws as required.

Government Contracts Manager Background Profile: 
Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of five of directly relevant experience in a contracts management position.
Significant experience and expertise in contracting either directly with the U.S. government acquisition organizations or as a supplier to the major aerospace prime contractors.
Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Export Regulations, as well as various U.S. government contract types.
Knowledge of Federal contract law and contract formation and proposal preparation is required. 
Experience in aerospace and/or composites manufacturing is highly desirable. 
Experience and expertise in commercial contracting, both domestic and international preferred, domestic is required
Working knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code.
U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a US Department of Defense security clearance.
Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Robust skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

**Require a Bachelors minimum 5 preferably 10 directly relevant experience
**Someone who has experience contracting directly with US DOD or supplying to a major aerospace that works with the DO (SO a 2nd Tier contractor) like supplying materials to Boeing because Boeing supplies to the Government
** These acronyms are key search words DFAR and FAR- must have-this tells you they know the rules they have to follow when they work with gov.
**Trick- really want someone who has both commercial and gov. contract
**Preferably both domestic and international – will still look if they only have only domestic
***NO SUBCONTRACT Managers
