Construction Project Accountant
Our client in Apopka Florida has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Accountant on a direct hire basis.

Construction Project Accountant Role:
The Construction Project Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial data, supporting budgeting processes, and assisting with client billing and payroll functions across multiple projects.
Work closely with construction project managers and field staff to gather productivity data and forecast labor, material, and subcontractor costs.
Integrate this data into the accounting system to ensure accurate job cost tracking and adjustments.
Adjust budgets as necessary, based on changes in project scope, cost overruns, or other unforeseen events, ensuring all updates are reflected in real-time financial reporting.
Process invoices from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Collaborate with the construction team to verify billing information and confirm services rendered, addressing any discrepancies in a proactive manner.
Operate accounting software systems to input, track, and update project financials, ensuring all data is entered correctly and consistently.
Generate reports, including job cost updates, project forecasts, and financial summaries, for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the preparation and issuance of client billing, ensuring alignment with project contracts and scope of work.
Maintain documentation related to billing schedules and payment terms, while collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate invoicing.
Maintain organized records for internal and external audits across multiple ongoing projects.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, assisting with the audit process as needed.
Provide assistance with payroll functions, including data entry, calculations, and reconciliation of labor costs.
Support general accounting duties, including tracking and reconciling project-related expenses, ensuring all financial data is accurate and current.
Construction Project Accountant Background Profile:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrated knowledge of job cost entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
Previous experience in the construction industry, particularly with a focus on managing project-based financials.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with construction project teams, senior accountants, and management.
Exceptional financial analytical capabilities, with experience in reviewing, adjusting, and forecasting project budgets.
Familiarity with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
